We are now well into our seventh decade of healing, having celebrated our 60th Anniversary in 2005.We have in that time, evolved from a small 16-bedded private hospital with just 25 employees including just one doctor in 1945, to a sophisticated, ultra modern healthcare facility with over sixty full-time medical doctors comprising an impressive specialist portfolio and 1,725 nursing, paramedical and support staff.With a team of over 175 visiting consultants covering all specialties complimented with a superior support staff, our focus has always been about caring for people and pioneering a paradigm shift in healthcare in Sri Lanka.
Many years ago Durdans Hospital ventured into setting up Sri Lanka’s first dedicated Heart Centre, as we believed that we had to provide a solution to one of the key reasons for deaths in Sri Lanka. We took up the challenge of bringing world class Cardiac Care to the people of Sri Lanka. Durdans Heart Centre, with the affiliation to India’s Premier Cardiac Care hospital, the Escorts Health Institute.
Today our services have evolved to an extent that our facility is the most renowned and has the highest top of mind recall in any cardiac emergency. We introduced the concept of “Single Centre in Cardiac Care” specializing in prevention, early diagnosis and prompt treatment of heart disease. Our centre today is supported by the most renowned cardiologists and cardiac surgeons in Sri Lanka, and includes the highest skilled staff providing the care needed by the patrons.
Today, we are honoured to introduce Durdans Medical and Surgical Hospital (Pvt) Ltd. Durdans Hospital-Sixth Lane Wing, the ultra modern, state-of-the-art facility that is set to significantly widen the horizon of private healthcare in Sri Lanka.
The new facility, under the Durdans Medical and Surgical Hospital (Pvt)Ltd, will primarily focus on providing surgical and medical services to the patrons, measuring up to international standards. The renowned clinical and after care associated with Durdans, is now provided in an ambience that is conducive for speedy recuperation. The infrastructure has been carefully designed to support the needs that are identified as essential in healthcare, for the future. Guided by the vision of becoming the premier healthcare service provider in Sri Lanka, the management team of Durdans constantly explores evolving developments that can contribute to greater welfare of its patrons. Many facilities available under the new venture will use the most advance technology available today which will be able to cater to the needs of the future.
Within the next year the Sixth Lane Wing will be fully functional and the new areas will house a well-designed modern eye clinic, dedicated consultation chambers for Paediatric and Gyn & Obs, a state –of –the –art laboratory and well-equipped modern auditorium. The facility will house three more wards totally eliminating any waiting for the patients.
Ultimately it is about care. It is about pre-empting ill health…about treating the sick in an environment that is conducive, caring and efficient.
