Imperial Institute of Higher Education (IIHE) - was incorporated in Sri Lanka in October 1996 and is amongst the oldest institutions offering degrees in Sri Lanka. Our mission is Excellence in academic and professional development through: Leading the market in provision of quality tertiary education, particularly validated undergraduate and post graduate programmes. The contemporary nature of our missions and the global reputation of the University of Wales led us to join with them to offer degrees at undergraduate and post-graduate levels.
We strive to enable mature learners to realize their potential abilities and further develop their careers whilst associating with business and industry to facilitate their competitiveness through the provision of cutting edge knowledge and skills; we are committed to developing professional leaders, with an ethical and moral commitment to corporate environment and society at large, in an interactive learning environment.
All programmes at IIHE are validated by the University of Wales, UK as conforming to the quality standards required by the University of Wales and the UK higher education system. This validation is not only concerned with the structure of the program but includes the delivery and management of the program from enrolment of students, recruitment of lecturers and availability of resources. University of Wales ensures on the basis of continuous monitoring and periodic reviews, that programmes are relevant and are at or above the standards set by Quality Assurance Association (QAA) of UK. Each of the programs is overlooked by a Moderator from the University of Wales and two External Examiners from outside of the University of Wales to ensure that UK standards are maintained. A representative from the University of Wales validation unit monitors that all programs confirm to the validation process.
The BSc ( Hons) in Business Management aims to provide students with a firm disciplinary base in business administration, a board understanding of the functional areas of Business and Management, the environment in which these operate, and of the emerging issues as well as some experience of the tools and techniques available to a manager so as to be able to move eventually into the world of work both nationally and globally in industry.
